# RossLabs LSP

Gives coding agents compiler-backed symbol search through a vendor-neutral CLI and MCP server.

Status: active

## The problem

Coding agents usually navigate with text search even when a language server already knows a symbol's definitions, references, diagnostics, and callers. Host-native LSP support also varies by agent and language.

## What I built

RossLabs LSP fronts language servers through a Rust CLI and MCP server that Claude Code, Codex, local models, CI, and scripts can call. A separate Claude Code plugin registers `ty` as the Python fast path. The CLI covers Python, Rust, Swift, TypeScript and JavaScript, plus C-family languages when the matching server is installed.

Queries address symbols by name, report whether the underlying server is ready, and refuse ambiguous matches instead of silently choosing one. An optional daemon keeps slower language servers warm; direct CLI execution remains the fallback.

## Verified behavior

Repository checks compare name-based and line-based lookup, validate ambiguity handling, and measure warm-server behavior. Those checks prove the tested repository cases, not universal accuracy across every language server.
